Linkin Park put out a video for "One More Light" in advance of a benefit concert honoring their former lead singer, Chester Bennington. The tribute will take place at the Hollywood Bowl on October 27, 2017, with proceeds going to Music For Relief's One More Light Fund. The concert marks the first time the remaining members of the band will have played together since Bennington ended his life on July 20th of this year. Tickets to the show are now available on Linkin Park's website.
The "One More Light" video focuses on the band's frontman and singer, surrounded by fans and his band, cell phones, stage lights, performing the music that touched so many worldwide. In a statement, Linkin Park member Mike Shinoda said, "'One More Light' was written with the intention of sending love to those who lost someone. We now find ourselves on the receiving end. In memorial events, art, videos, and images, fans all over the world have gravitated towards this song as their declaration of love and support for the band and the memory of our dear friend, Chester. We are so very grateful and can't wait to see you again."
Joe Hahn directed the video, and described the process as "...incredibly emotional to work on… and especially to watch... I feel that by doing it, we not only faced some of our biggest fears, but it enabled us to use our talents to bring some light to people that need it. As we move forward to the Hollywood Bowl show and beyond, I think about the people that connect with the band, outside and inside our circle. This video is a gesture of goodwill to the people that want that connection."
