    Lionsgate and MySpace Partner For Holiday Film Promotions

    Lionsgate will partner with social networking site MySpace to help promote the studio's slate of films due out this holiday season, using MySpace's new Profile 2.0 design package that allows users to upgrade and customize the look of their MySpace pages. Profile 2.0 has just launched and Lionsgate is the official partner of the launch. The two companies have teamed up previously on marketing initiatives.

    Members can choose homepage theme skins from films like Transporter 3, The Spirit and The Punisher: War Zone. When a MySpace user adopts the skin, it turns their page into a promotional tool for the film. Users are encouraged to adopt the skins via a sweepstakes/contest offer. Lionsgate won't be the only company taking advantage of Profile 2.0 as a marketing vehicle. Celebrities like Ashton Kutcher will also be involved in A-Lister-themed skins.
