It's no secret that As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis is an Arnold Schwarzenegger fan. His side project Austrian Death Machine serves as a tribute to the Terminator himself with a healthy dose of good humor and guttural growls. So, for this exclusive feature, we asked Mr. Lambesis who his favorite Arnold heroes were.
He shared his list below with ARTISTdirect.com editor in chief Rick Florino…
Mr. Schwarzenegger returns to the big screen in The Last Stand on January 18, 2013!

Predator
As far as being a badass goes, I feel like you can't beat Dutch in Predator. He singlehandedly destroys an invincible creature, which is amazing.

Commando
In Commando, he travels to the island, and there's a hundred guys defending this one building. He singlehandedly kills all of them and defeats the main enemy. That's pretty insane.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day
In Terminator 2: Judgment Day, there's that sentimental part at the end when he's getting destroyed in the fiery lava. It's an emotional moment to realize that a machine is sometimes more compassionate than a human being.

The Running Man
In The Running Man, he's that subversive character. Not only is he doing amazing things by defeating his enemies, he's exposing lies and making a greater statement. That's a cool character.

End of Days
It's funny because that was at that dark time in his career when people stopped caring. I think that movie is amazing, but it's one of those movies that nobody really appreciated. It's a pretty awesome character. He hasn't shaved, and he's about to fall apart. It's a cool premise for Arnold. That one doesn't naturally come to mind. I always think of the height of his career. That's the Arnold I come back to. I typically don't think of the Arnold who did Jingle All the Way unless I'm keeping it in the sense of comedy [Laughs].

Total Recall
The last one I could think of would be Total Recall. That one's awesome because he has to defeat himself. Anyone who can defeat himself is cool in my book.
AND AS FAR AS ARNOLD 2013 IS CONCERNED, TIM GOES ON…

The Expendables 2
In my opinion, there are great movies with deep plots. Then, there are entertaining movies. Expendables 2 is entertaining. You're not going to be bummed you spent your time watching it. They've all been friends forever. It's like those guys got together to blow stuff up and kill people in interesting ways. Somehow, we'll squeeze a plot in there. The camaraderie of how those guys interact is amazing to me.

The Last Stand
I saw The Expendables 2, and I saw the preview. It looks pretty good. He's not going to be tearing his shirt off or anything, but it's going to be pretty awesome.
