Pop-soul artist Brandyn Burnette has dropped his first single, "Thanks For Nothing." You will thank US for something -- for sharing this track.
"Thanks For Nothing" will be included on Burnette's upcoming fall EP for Warner Bros. Records, titled The Couch Surfing Chronicles. It is an homage to the years he spent crashing on the sofas of friends and family, and the life lessons that come with being in a constant state of motion.
"'Thanks for Nothing' was written as a happy accident," Burnette said. "I was just coming off of my freshman year at NYU before leaving New York and relocating to L.A., when my girlfriend at the time broke up with me. So there I was in a new city and a new start and stumbled over the bright side of the break-up. I got myself through a rough time by poking fun at a shitty experience because I realized I was so much better off without her. It started as a sad song about moving on and mid-way through I decided she wasn't even worth the pain and thanked her instead for giving me the inspiration. What better way to celebrate being single, than with my first single?"
Burnette has been playing music since the age of seven when he taught himself piano, followed by guitar. Now barely into his 20's, he has penned hundreds of songs with many of today's top writers and producers, including Busbee, Ari Levine, Kojak, Diane Warren, Emanuel Kiriakou, Evan Bogart, Martin Johnson, Lauren Christy, Kara DioGuardi, The Futuristics, and many more.
Now, without further words or delays, listen to "Thanks for Nothing."
