We recently reported on the news of an exciting release from The Beatles. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of one of the most important albums in pop music and culture beyond, a reissue of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is being dropped.
The album will be shared in a number of formats, in a spectrum of bundles, with a range of bonus materials which seem to gauge the commitment of die-hard fans and the music-geekdom must-have recordings. Amongst the bundles are studio outtakes, alternate versions of famous tracks, artwork, and written pieces from people involved in the project — Sir Paul McCartney included. The Deluxe bundle includes no less than thirty three extra recordings, many of which have never been heard by anyone outside the recording studio.
Today one of those thirty three tracks has been shared via the Guardian. It's a previously unreleased take on the title track ("Take 9" to be exact) and includes audio of some disarming studio chatter among the band — just the kind of thing that fans of the fab four will love.
Take a listen to the previously unheard track below, and start saving those pennies for the official release date on May 26th.
