Since country music is a major thread in the fabric of America today, it seems like a perfect match that National Country Music Day and Independence Day fall on the same day.
TV writer turned singer/songwriter and mom, Tracy Newman has announced the holiday song, "Fourth of July," written by Michelle Malone and Tracy Newman and sung by Randy Crenshaw.
The song celebrates Independence Day with country rock and folk musical styling. The lyrics explore the simplicity and enjoyment of the holiday while celebrating in Victory Park with the family.
Some sample lyrics are as follows:
"We got some fun-loving moms out here in Victory Park / All the kids get to stay up late, they can't wait for it to get dark / So when the sun goes down, they come a-looking for me /I like to climb to the top of this old oak tree / And send a rocket's red glare up into the air."
Listen to the track below and add it to your holiday playlist.
