For all the folks who rip into Live Nation for those over-the-top "service" fees that get added on to already overpriced tickets, the company is waiving service fees for the entire month of June, in what could be an effort to boost ticket sales and to aid in selling out venues for the summer tour season. The "No Service Fee June" promotion eliminates the extra fees for nearly 8 million tickets to more than 700 shows played by 110 artists at all 50 Live Nation owned and operated amphitheaters for the entire month of June.

"A fan in every seat is our mission this summer," said Michael Rapino, President and CEO of Live Nation. "We know that's tough in this economy, so it's our job to find a way to make concerts more affordable. Starting June 1, Live Nation and the world's top artists are offering live music fans the experience of seeing their favorite bands with no service fees on more than eight million tickets at LiveNation.com." That is a generous and smart business move for Rapino and Live Nation to make, since fans are tightening their belts and may not have that extra couple of bucks to shell out on a service fee.

The promotion for tickets for "No Service Fee June," available only at LiveNation.com, kicked off on June 1 and will remain in effect until 11:59 PM ET, Wednesday, June 30. So get off your rump and get your tickets on the quick.
