Live Review: Ume — The Satellite, Silverlake
Fri, 15 Jun 2012 09:30:53
That wasn't an earthquake on Tuesday; it was just Ume at The Satellite in Silverlake. The Austin, TX trio practically ruptured a fissure right through L.A.'s hipster mecca with its arsenal of thunderous guitars, booming bass, and pummeling percussion. Ume attacked the stage with an intensity on par with Mastodon and a vulnerability reminiscent of PJ Harvey. Lauren Larson's deadly combination of flawless riffing and haunting crooning made for a rapturous show. They're going to shake up a lot more than Los Angeles though. Don't miss Ume and get their latest album PHANTOMS.
