Live Review: Wiz Khalifa at the House of Blues, West Hollywood

Wiz Khalifa lit up the House of Blues in West Hollywood like never before last Saturday night.
Now, "The Big Secret Tour" rolled through Los Angeles, bringing the ultimate good time to the stage and packed house. Nobody in Hollywood was having this much fun anywhere else, and that says a lot.
Wiz commanded the stage with the kind of panache, passion, and power that only icons wield. In fact, as the smoke puffed, the crowd cheered, booties shook, and smiles abounded, it was clear that rap royalty had arrived.
The big bombast of "We Dem Boyz" and "KK" garnered huge sing-a-longs as Wiz carried each verse confidently and charismatically. The same could be said for "Young, Wild, & Free". He sounded downright fiery though when he dove deeper into his catalog especially onto bangers from this year's 28 Grams, which illuminated his talent as an MC and incendiary hip-hop heart.
At the same time, Blacc Hollywood (LP) feels "Taylor"-made for the stage. The new studio cuts echo with a combination of rap energy and pop palatability. Moreover, they got the audience moving in tandem to every rhyme and beat.
Ultimately, it was clear that there ain't no party like a Wiz Khalifa party, and that secret's out. He's one of the best to hit the stage in the game.
