Co-founder of The Cure, Lol Tolhurst, is set to release Cured: The Tale of Two Imaginary Boys on October 11th via Da Capo Press. The new memoir details the beginnings and creation of the iconic band. The book "reveals the highs and lows of the lifelong friendship" between Lol and Robert Smith who have known each other since they were five.
Tolhurst teamed up with bandmate/graphic artist Pearl Thompson to create new artwork for two different version of the book's cover and an exclusive PledgeMusic range of Cured t-shirts, posters, pins, and more.
The PledgeMusic drive will also offer limited-edition art boxes that will contain signed copies of the book and some special editon Cured items. But the biggest Cure fans might take interest in the one-of-a-kind memorabilia that Lol is making available. He has opened up his personal archive and curated some of the exclusive souvenirs, which will be accompanied by signed letters of authenticity and a photo of Lol with the item itself, and include framed gig-used sweatbands + rare badges, a variety of gold records from around the world, and a Super Fan Mystery Box, which is a Cure road touring case.
The proceeds from the PledgeMusic campaign go to fund The Cured Book Tour, where, throughout a series of special events, Lol will read passages from the book while surrounded by an immersive audio/visual backdrop. Following the reading, he will conduct a fan Q&A and signing session. At some dates, Lol will be accompanied by Pearl Thompson and the original artwork will be shown.
