Other acts of note include Bloc Party, about to drop Four; The Afghan Whigs, in the midst of a reunion tour; Tame Impala, previewing tracks from their upcoming album; Alabama Shakes, who have sold near a quarter-million records in six months; the smooth sound of Toronto's The Weeknd; great live blues-rock from Gary Clark, Jr; the Zef counter-culture sound of Die Antwoord; the working-class rock of The Gaslight Anthem; the hip hop sound of J. Cole; and the return of Franz Ferdinand.
