Luciano Pavarotti's widow is trying to stop the publication of a memoir by the late opera singer's former personal assistant.
Nicoletta Mantovani has threatened legal against the publisher and Edwin Tinoco, who wrote The Maestro and I: Twelve Years with the World's Greatest Tenor.
The book reportedly features no gossip, but does touch on family issues.
Publisher Carlo Bonacini has revealed he sent a draft manuscript to Mantovani to read, but received a legal letter back from her lawyer threatening to sue if the book is published. He was not told what exactly caused this letter to be fired off to him.
Bonacini said, "The warning notice was nothing specific – they don't want anything to come out about Luciano Pavarotti. I hope we can overcome this… If they want to change something, we'll change it. I don't know why there is this fear."
Would you read a book about Pavarotti, who died in 2007 at the age of 71 after a battle with pancreatic cancer?
