Back in February, it was announced that M.I.A. would be curating this year's Meltdown Festival. The annual London event has been curated by a number of big names over time, including Jarvis Cocker, Yoko Ono, Massive Attack, Morrissey, David Byrne, David Bowie, and Anohni. This time around, M.I.A. is doing the honors and she has just announced the first roundup of performers.

Crystal Castles, Mykki Blanco, Young Fathers, Young M.A, Yung Lean, Tommy Genesis, JD Samson, Afrikan Boy, MHD, Mr Eazi, I Wayne, and Dexta Daps will all perform over the course of the nine-day event, and M.I.A. is set to close down the festival. Last month, she publically asked Radiohead to play at the event, but there is no word yet on whether or not that'll happen. However, more acts will be announced in the coming weeks, so all hope is not lost.

The festival will take place June 9th through 18th at London's Southbank Centre. Member's pre-sale tickets go on sale Tuesday April 4th at 10am for 48hrs. It's quite an impressive lineup already, but nonetheless we still hope M.I.A.'s prayers are answered and Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and company come rolling up to the stage. Currently, they still do have some holes to fill on their summer tour, so the ball really is in their court.
