M.I.A. has once again expressed a desire to leak her forthcoming album, reportedly titled Matahdatah.
Back in May, as reported on ARTISTdirect, the artist took to Periscope to address her keenness to speed up the process of getting new material out to her audience. After previewing new track "Finally," she said, "I would love to leak it. I wake up every day and think I'm gonna leak it," She went on to say that she was handing her 'last' record to her US label, but admitted that she considered it important to keep them (Interscope) 'on-side'.
However, this morning, M.I.A. tweeted that she was "on the verge" of leaking the LP, and that "big American artists" have been taking ideas from her new album, ahead of it's release. The Emcee has not directly referenced any artists that she feels are directly ripping her off. The comments arrive following numerous debates surrounding her headlining performance at AfroPunk and her comments on the Black Lives Matter movement.

In recent months, the artist teamed up with H&M campaign to release "Rewear It", "MIA OLA," "Foreign Friend," and "Temple," a collaboration with Baauer and BIGBANG frontman G-Dragon. Her latest track, "POC THAT STILL A RYDA," was recently removed from YouTube by UMG.
Previously M.I.A had promised fans that the album, the follow-up to 2013's Manatangi, would be coming this summer, in July.
