M.I.A. Publicly Asks Radiohead To Play Her Meltdown Festival

A couple weeks back, it was announced that M.I.A. would be curating this year's Meltdown Festival at London's Southbank Center. After the news broke, Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam suggested her fans send in tips. Yesterday, the "Borders" singer took to Twitter to ask Radiohead to play the festival tweeting, "@radiohead I know it's a long shot but I live for long shots , please come play Meltdown."
The Meltdown Festival is set to take place from June 9th through 18th this year. Unfortunately, Radiohead is scheduled to play in Sweden, Denmark, Italy, and the Netherlands during that time. However, for those who want a little bit of hope — something we could all use every once in awhile — Radiohead currently do not have any concerts scheduled for the 10th, 12th, 13th, 15th, or 17th. So as Lloyd Christmas would say, we're "saying there's a chance."
M.I.A. currently has three concerts of her own scheduled. The first is set for April 1st in Mexico, then she will play a set at Festival Garorock in France at the end of June, and then she will make an appearance at BoomTown Fair in the U.K. She also released a new song, "P.O.W.A.", and an accompanying music video two weeks ago. Last year, she released AIM, which she said would be her final album. However, with all of her upcoming duties and new releases, we are hoping she has a change of heart.
