M.I.A. U.S. Visa Approved, Teases Tour

M.I.A.'s U.S. visa has finally been approved. Stereogum reports, "M.I.A. recently posted the picture (below) on her Instagram account with the caption/question: "To tour or not to tour." It seemed like an odd hint because she had previously expressed concern that Interscope may not release her latest album, AIM, because she didn't have a US visa to promote it Stateside. She even included a song called "Visa" on the album." A representative for M.I.A. confirmed the news to Pitchfork.
M.I.A. released her most recent and possibly last album AIM back in September. She is next scheduled to play at the Pitchfork Music Festival Paris in late October. It was also previously announced that she will play November in 19th in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, she did not have a visa at the time of announcement. She has no other dates currently scheduled, but hopefully the visa news means a tour will be coming.
Earlier this year, M.I.A. was removed as a headliner for Afropunk London. This was due to a number of complaints about remarks she made in an interview with the Evening Standard about Black Lives Matter.
