Word is that Madonna has reportedly opened up about her director ex-husband Guy Ritchie in "I Don't Give A..." on her new album MDNA.
Madge and Ritchie were married from 2000 through 2008, when they divorced.
The lyrics to the song are as follows: "I tried to be a good girl / I tried to be your wife / Diminished myself / And I swallowed my light / I tried to become all / That you expect of me / And if it was a failure / I don't give a…"
Whoa, that's pretty harsh, no? Madge spoke about Ritchies' talents as a director when she was on the press tour for her directorial debut W.E. so we were shocked to see this. Unless, of course, the lyrics are not of the autobiographical sort.
Madge's longtime PR rep Liz Rosenberg told New York Post Page Six that the idea that the song is about her client's former marriage is news to her. She said, "I have not heard Madonna explain whether the lyrics are autobiographical or not. She doesn't often explain lyrics to her songs, and she did have a few writing collaborators. I can only confirm that the response from the music press who heard the album was really exciting. They seemed to love it."
Oh, that was just brilliant!
Do you think that Madonna is referencing Guy Ritchie?
