Madonna's Mexico City Gym Lacks Permits

According to The Associated Press, Madonna's newly launched Hard Candy Fitness club, which opened this week in Mexico City, is in danger of being shut down because it lacks a security plan and a land use permit, local authorities said Wednesday. Wow! Madge's gym business is nearly over before it truly began over red tape.
Officials at Hard Candy Fitness have until Friday to get a land use permit, though they will be allowed to turn in other necessary documents later, said Demetrio Sodi, the chief of the Miguel Hidalgo municipality where the gym is located. Madge's peeps better get their shit together or her fans won't be able to come work out and get super toned arms and abs just like her.
Sodi said the gym also needs to present a certificate showing it has parking. He also said that when he was told last week that the gym would open Monday, they "didn't have any permits" but he granted a special permit for the inauguration. When you are the world's biggest pop star, sometimes you get bureaucratic breaks.
Madonna was in Mexico City Monday night for the ribbon cutting and taught a dance class for 20 hand-picked members. Madge chose Mexico "as a place to fine-tune our brand and then expand it to other countries and, in the long term, develop a global brand that includes the United States."
Membership ain't cheap; it costs about $159 a month. It costs $827 to join and that includes the first two months.
Would you work out at a gym owned and operated by Madonna?
