Mandy Moore Dropped From TV Pilot

Dropped. That's singer/actress Mandy Moore's status in a new TV pilot for ABC called Tangled.
Moore, the wife of Ryan Adams, was set to play one of three dysfunctional women in their 30s in a spin-off version of the 2006 British series of the same name. Due to the writer's plan to take the character in a different direction, Moore's part will be recast.
Both parties were quite diplomatic in discussing Moore's exit from the series.
Producers said, "Mandy is a pro, and has been very patient and accommodating with us. As we moved closer to production, it was clear we needed to go in a different direction for the character, and Mandy agreed to do what was best for the show. She's an immensely gifted actress and we hope to have the pleasure of working with her again."
Moore, 28, said, "Many things change quickly as a pilot moves into production. And, in this case, Lee and Gene moved the character in a different direction, it was clear this wasn't right for me. Rather than jeopardize the show, I asked to step aside. They and ABC were very accommodating, and I wish them all the best in the fall. It's a terrific show that worked so well in the U.K., I hope it gets the audience it deserves here."
Moore rebounded quick and nabbed a role in The Advocates, a CBS drama pilot.
Does this sound like a show you would watch? Would you prefer to watch it with Moore?
