Atlantic recording artist Marc Broussard will release a self-titled album on June 14th.
The self-titled collection will be heralded by the new single, "Only Everything." The Louisiana-based bayou soul troubadour will be hitting the road this winter for a U.S. headline tour. The dates will begin February 15th at Memphis, Tennessee's Minglewood Hall and then continue through mid-March. The 21-city trek culminates March 17th with a hugely anticipated hometown concert at Lafayette, Louisiana's Parc International. Accompanying Broussard on the tour will be Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors (February 15th through March 5th) and Sonia Leigh (March 8th through March 16th).
Ticket buyers are also invited to purchase the special "VIP Album Pre-Order Bundle," which includes one concert ticket, a signed copy of the album, entry into an exclusive meet-and-greet with the artist, and one-year membership to "The Bayou Club," the official Marc Broussard Fan Club. Broussard also recently recorded an episode for eTown Live Radio Show at the Boulder Theatre which will air February 23rd through March 31st. eTown is a weekly radio broadcast on NPR that is taped in front of a live audience and features performances from many of today's top musical artists as well as conversation and information about the community and environment.
The story behind Marc Broussard– appropriately this unique artist's first self-titled album – is simple yet eloquent: It's great music, pulled from the heart, crafted impeccably and delivered with the deep emotion that has long marked Broussard as one of the great vocalists of our time. As ever, Broussard achieves a depth in all aspects of his writing and singing through his love for and mastery of tradition. Strong currents of R&B, sanctified church and the many other flavors of his Louisiana bayou home nourish his songs, performed with the able assistance of his crack band, a team of Nashville and Louisiana-based session aces, and producer Jamie Kenney.
"This is as honest as any record I've ever made," he explains. "I wasn't trying to surprise the listener. We just took some of the basic feelings as well as some of the more specific stories surrounding my life and applied them to the lyrics."
