Maroon 5 Launched 24-Hour Song Contest
Thu, 24 Mar 2011 14:25:27
Renowned and famous Maroon 5 today began a world first this week, trying to create and record an original song from scratch in just 24 hours. An interactive social media wall provided the band with inspiration from fans in a music world first.
Footage showing a one/one interview with Adam Levine and Jesse Carmichael, along with general views of the band entering their new 24-hour habitat and soundbites at the start of their 24-hour epic session is now available here.
Coca-Cola will also be using this social experiment to raise money for RAIN (Replenish Africa Initiative).
The interactions are centered on a movement based projection system that will stream the thoughts, inspiration and comments of fans onto the studio walls and direct to the band. Rather than gathering around a computer, the surfaces in the studio will be the canvas that will enable the band to interact directly with fans.
What an ambitious undertaking!
