Martin Lawrence, Back to America?

Raunchy comedian Martin Lawrence, who has been starring in more family-friendly fare like College Road Trip as of late, may return to edgier comedy. Lawrence may star as the lead character in Back to America for Alcon Entertainment. Lawrence developed the pitch and will produce the film through his Runteldat Entertainment firm alongside Alcon.

Lawrence would play a working class man from Queens, New York who finds out that he is the heir to the throne of an African country and heads home to claim what's rightfully his. The plot appears to be a spin on the popular Internet scam involving African fortunes, or a reverse Coming to America plot.

In other Lawrence news, the actor will most likely reprise his role in the sequel to Wild Hogs, the motorcycle buddy comedy that also starred Tim Allen and John Travolta.
