Glee star Matthew Morrison aka Mr. Schuester, is to release a new studio album, Where It All Began, on June 4, 2013. Featuring a collection of classic standards, many of which were first made famous in Broadway musicals, Morrison turned to legendary producer Phil Ramone (Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett), along with GRAMMY Award-winning producer Gregg Field, to create the 12 songs featured on the album. The collection marks the first release from 222 Records, the newly formed label from Adam Levine.
"I enjoyed the journey back to my roots on this new album," said Morrison. "This is the album I've always wanted to make, and I am looking forward to sharing the experience with everyone."
"I am thrilled to be working with Matthew Morrison," said Adam Levine. "I am excited for everyone to hear the album because he has so much talent and am so proud to have this release produced by the legendary Phil Ramone."
Morrison adds another dimension to the album with his national PBS special, premiering June 1, 2013, Matthew Morrison: Where It All Began - Live From the Bushnell. Shot in Hartford, Connecticut in front of an enchanted crowd, Matthew is accompanied by an orchestra and his own funk-injected backup singers, dancers and band. His strength as an all–around performer is showcased in this production from Connecticut Public Television for Podwall Entertainment, 222 Records and PBS.
