Philly rapper Meek Mill, born Robert Williams, was sentenced to jail for three-to-six months because violated his parole stemming from his 2009 conviction by posting an IG photo of himself with a gun, testing positive for drugs, booking out-of-town concerts and failing to keep in constant contact with his parole officer.
That's a recipe for disaster.
Mill's team claimed that the gun was a music video prop, that the drugs were doctor prescribed and that he did not know the extent of his travel limits.
Mill asked to be released early so that he can support his family and his crew. But the judge said no.
He has to take a parenting course and receive treatment for drugs and alcohol, as well as anger management, while incarcerated.
The lawyers are taking the case to the Supreme Court.
