Philly rapper Meek Mill has been sentenced to three-to-six months in jail. What for? For violating his probation, that's what!
Mill --Robert Williams on all legal docs-- appeared in court on Friday, July 11 to face charges of multiple violations of his 2008 conviction for guns and drugs. He also scheduled shows without obtaining approval and changed his cell phone number without informing the court officials.
Mill was in jail for eight months in 2008 and his probation, which is five years in duration, began in 2009.
"Sir, I didn't want to do this but you made me do this," Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Genece E. Brinkley said. "After all the years I tried to get you on the right track."
Also, Mill was been vocal on Twitter about the officials deciding his fate. "His Twitter accounts being derogatory to the probation department and this DA and others in the court system," said Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney Noel Ann DeSantis.
Mill will release Dreams Worth More Than Money on September 9. He will likely be behind bars at that time, which means he can't promote it. Maybe that release date will change as a result.
