Rapper Meek Mill lost his civil rights lawsuit against authorities in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which he launched following an arrest in 2012.
Mill –that's Robert Williams to his mama- actually sued city officials and the two arresting officers after claiming that he and his three friends, who were black males, saw their Range Rover pulled over in October 2012 due to racial profiling.
The cops said they pulled the vehicle over because the windows were tinted too dark and a sniffer dog detected the scent of weed.
Mill and his three friends, one of which was an armed, off-duty cop from Florida, were arrested and detained for hours. No drugs were found and no charges were filed. Mill, unfortunately, was forced to cancel a performance in Georgia.
He sought $400,000 in lost income and additional damages for emotional distress, but the jury didn't decide in his favor. Both sides were blamed for what happened that night.
"Although we voted unanimously that Mr. Williams' rights were not violated, we feel strongly both the plaintiff and defendant were in the wrong and made mistakes. Any reasonable officer faced with those circumstances would have conducted an investigation."
