It is with a heavy heart that were report that two members of rock band the Yellow Dogs, who formed in Tehran, Iran in 2006 but have been based on the East Coast as of late, died during the wee hours of Monday, November 11 as part of a murder-suicide in Brooklyn, N.Y.
USA Today reports that two members of the rock band, along with a fellow musician, were killed around midnight by a member of a different band with whom they had a petty conflict. The other band is The Free Keys. Another person was also injured in the attack. The Yellow Dogs' drummer and guitarist were killed. The singer and bassist were not at home at the time and were uninjured.
The gunman next killed himself with a single shot from a rifle while on the roof of a building.
What a shame. Our hearts go out to their families, friends and fans. This is so tragic, especially since the band members fled their native Iran so they could play the rock music that they wanted.
Any Yellow Dogs fans out there care to talk about their love of the band? We're really bummed and sad.
