Mercury Prize Winners The xx Say They Aren't Even Thinking About Second Album

The xx won the coveted and prestigious Mercury Prize, which is awarded to UK bands, but the band has said that it is not even thinking about when (or if) it will record a follow up! The British trio told NME that their plans to follow up their award-receiving debut are rather nebulous, as they are going to take a rest and then decide what their next step will be. That's fair. They've earned it
The xx bassist and vocalist Oliver Sim was quoted as saying, "There is no plan to even put out a second album. There's just a plan to start being creative again, with no big intentions." What a clear-headed way to approach things.
Do you think the band is being too flip about their second album or have they earned the right to take a break and then carefully plot their next move?
