Mercury Rev have announced their first full-length since 2005's The Secret Migration. Described as "shimmering, vibrating close-ups and vistas of Life driving itself onward" on the band's Web site, Snowflake Midnight hits stores on September 29. That's not all, though. Mercury Rev's E-mail list will also have a chance to download a free LP the same day. Dubbed Strange Attractor, the album is described as "an even subtler kind of self-organization, its own ground state of order not immediately perceived but rather felt over the course of a complete listen."

Err, okay then. In other Rev-ed up news, the band has a number of tour dates planned for the coming months, beginning with a string of festival stops in Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium and the UK.
