Hot off the stage from their GRAMMY performance alongside Lady Gaga, Metallica have now added to the excitement around their fans by announcing their “WorldWired Tour”. The tour in support of their new album, Hardwired....To Self-Destruct, kicks of on May 10th in Baltimore, MD at the M&T Bank Stadium.
This will be the first time the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame inductees, and GRAMMY Award winners, have toured North America since 2009. Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat will be the main support artists for the run.
Pre-sale tickets will be available to Metallica's Legacy Fan Club members beginning on Tuesday, February 14 at 9:00 AM local time, with presale tickets available to all Met Club members beginning on Tuesday, February 14 at 11:00 AM local time. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning this Friday, February 17th at 10:00 AM local time.
The band's tenth album, Hardwired...To Self Destruct was released on November 18 on Metallica's own Blackened Recordings record label and debuted at No. 1 around the world. It sold over 800,000 copies worldwide in its first week. The album was produced by Greg Fidelman with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.
There are treats, too… Each ticket purchased will come with a copy of the Hardwired...To Self-Destruct album, available as a physical CD or a digital download. Starting with last night's pyrotechnic performance and lasting through the summer — it seems like Metallica are keen on keeping things on full flame.
