Metallica's Lars Ulrich Is A Danish Knight

All hail the dark lord, or in this case Denmark's own dark knight. Lars Ulrich, of Metallica fame, was already the king of metal drummers, but that wasn't enough for him. He had to go and get himself knighted.
Back on May 26th — or at least that's what the Copenhagen Post Online tells us, though it's being disputed online — the metal drummer was dubbed a knight by Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark. The ceremony took place during Frederik's trip to San Francisco, where he handed Ulrich the Knight's Cross of the Order of Dannebrog on behalf of Queen Margrethe for his long-standing contribution to music. For those not in the know, Ulrich was born in Gentofte, Denmark.
Ulrich's bandmates congratulated him on the honor bestowed on him by Crown Prince Frederik, posting to Instagram, "Does this really mean we must address him as Sir Lars now? ð Congrats to Lars as he was knighted last night by Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark. Not bad for a snot-nosed kid from Gentofte!"
Metallica is currently on tour in North America. They will be making a number of stops across the country, including playing shows in Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle, Edmonton, and many more. On September 2nd, the band head to Europe, starting with a gig in Copenhagen, Denmark. We have to wonder, how will the knight celebrate his newly awarded honor once home? We're hoping for more metal!
