It's all in the planning, embryonic stages, but the biggest (and formerly metallic) band in hard rock, Metallica, will embark on a brief, yet visually arresting tour in 2011. Manager Peter Mensch recently revealed to Classic Rock magazine that the tour will be a visual stunner. Mensch also said the tour will "blow your mind" and that it will only hit 10 cities. What the tour lacks in length, however, it will make up for in scope. "It's a huge undertaking. It will be Metallica's equivalent of The Wall," Mensch also said, referencing Pink Floyd's masterwork.
Now we're hooked. We want to know more. We want to see it. We pray to God, Satan, Buddha and whatever deity will listen that it hits a city nearest our location. We also hope that it doesn't involve any pyrotechnics, since we all remember when vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield caught on fire and got seriously singed during a fiery display at a 'Tallica concert back in 1992.
The band is currently fleshing out ideas for the tour, with dates and venues remaining announced at press time. Righteous!
