Michael Jackson's music is set to soundtrack an hour-long animated special, the late singer's estate has announced. The estate has partnered with CBS for the television event that is set to come to boxes around the country this fall.
The story will follow the young duo of Vincent and Victoria who meet on Halloween night. Alongside a dog named Ichabod, Vincent and Victoria end up at 777 Jackson Street at the mysterious This Place Hotel, a reference to the Jackson's 1980 song of the same name.
The special will feature voices from Lucas Till (MacGyver) as Vincent and Kiersey Clemons (Transparent) as Victoria. Also on board are Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory), Lucy Liu (Elementary), Christine Baranski (The Good Wife, The Good Fight), Alan Cumming (The Good Wife), George Eads (CSI), and Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond).
Since Jackson passed in 2009, his estate has produced a few projects. The majority have been documentaries and archival releases, including Spike Lee's Michael Jackson's Journey from Motown to Off the Wall, which was released just last year, and the 2009 film, This Is It, which features footage from Jackson's final tour rehearsals.
Jackson's estate is working to release a number of upcoming projects to honor the late star, with the executors saying, "numerous projects in development, all of which respect, honor and celebrate Michael's life and legacy along with his extraordinary artistry that touched fans throughout the world ... When the executors are ready to announce them, they will. As Michael said countless times about his own work, the quality goes in before the name goes on."
