The Associated Press is reporting that global bidders coughed up nearly $1 million for Michael Jackson items at an auction at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on Friday, which was the one-year anniversary of his death. The Swarovski-crystal-studded glove he wore on his 1984 Victory Tour? That nabbed $190,000 from a bidder, which was 10 times higher than the estimated value. It was expected to pull in between $20,000 and $30,000. Over 200 items were up for auction.

"It just shows you Michael Jackson is the most sought after and most collectible celebrity of all time. It was just phenomenal," Darren Julien of Julien's Auctions told Las Vegas Review-Journal. "People flew in from Asia, Russia, all over. Now that he's gone, we now realize the true legend we lost." Julien predicted the sales would easily top $1 million by the time the auction wrapped up Sunday. < br>
So who the hell blew nearly 200 grand on Jacko's glove? Her name is Wanda Kelley and she is from Los Angeles. The glove wasn't the only think she snatched up at the auction, either. She bought a bunch of his albums, too. Wow. She must have a sugar daddy or be filthy rich with loads of disposable income.

Also, a pair of Jackson-worn loafers that were listed as worth $2,000 to $3,000 went for $90,000. That's what I call inflation.

What do you think of people who blow this kind of money on rock memorabilia?
