Sources tell Fox 411 that Michael Jackson's mother Katherine, who has had custody and legal guardianship of his three children since her son's death, is employing them in service of the Jehovah's Witness faith. According to a Jackson insider, the kids have been doing the standard field service as part of their involvement with the Jehovah's Witnesses, encouraging others to convert to the faith by knocking on doors. It's ironic, given the extreme measures Jackson himself went to keep his kids out of the glare of the spotlight, such as covering them with masks and blankets to protect and shield their identities.
"Growing up, Michael did it, too. It's an important part of their faith," said our source. "Nobody even seems to know it is them." Longtime Jackson family friend and biographer, Stacy Brown, also told Fox 411 that he "wouldn't be surprised" at all to learn the Jackson youngsters were undertaking field service, despite, you know, being famous kids who lost a very, very famous father. "I am sure it is something Katherine would encourage," Brown said. "Becoming a Jehovah's Witness was something she wanted for all her kids."
Kate's rep did not respond to a request for comment. Reportedly, the Jackson trio, who have been home-schooled, will make the switch to a private school in Los Angeles after the summer vacation.
How would you react if a Jackson kid showed up on your doorstep?
