After months of hype, Microsoft is finally launching its Zune portable media player on Tuesday, November 14th. The device is the software giant's big bid to compete with Apple's wildly successful iPod line.

To add to the media circus surrounding the launch, Microsoft will be hosting free concerts in six major U.S. cities on Monday, November 13th. Presumably, anyone who attends the shows can expect to be heavily marketed to -- but hey, that's a small price to pay for free music, right?
