R&B's trailblazer is ready to get wild on mega-anticipated third full-length album.
Miguel returns with album number 3, Wildheart, out June 30 through ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records. Given the massive success of 2012's Kaleidoscope Dream, this is one of the most anticipated musical events of the year. The Los Angeles R&B trend-setter definitely stands poised to reach a new stratosphere on Wildheart, and it's already got all the makings of a classic in its own right. So, we wanted to give you Five Reasons (though there are many more) to get excited for Miguel's Wildheart.
Five Reasons to Get Excited for Miguel's Wildheart
5. First of all, the cover art rules. Have you seen it? Miguel looks like the master of the universe, standing in front of clouds and stars shirtless with a girl crouched in front of him. It's reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland. As far as innovation and inventiveness go, he's becoming the Hendrix of R&B, so it works masterfully.
4. Kaleidoscope Dream was incredible. It firmly entrenched him at the top of R&B, by ushering in a completely fresh, flirty, and fiery sound. It could be seductive at moments and highly soulful at others. He took off with a myriad of sounds, textures, and sonic colors, creating something timeless in the process. It set the stage for Wildheart.
3. It means he'll be on tour. If you haven't seen Miguel live yet, it's a must. He brings the same kind of energy from the album to the stage, but there's a raw delivery in person that's simply electrifying and entrancing. Miguel doesn't play around or hold back. He gives his all with the kind of gigs that turn casual fans into disciples. He'll undoubtedly be supporting Wildheart quite a bit.
