Miley Cyrus' cray cray video for "We Can't Stop" ignited a national conversation, with its weirdness and bacchanalia. But the singer knew it would be polarizing and told the powers-that-be at her new label RCA to trust her and see her artistic vision through. She even bartered with them and told them if it didn't work, they could have their way with her career.
"We're in a world of selfies," the singer said. "I told my label, 'This is the first time I'm showing you what I'm bringing to the table as an artist. If this goes wrong, you never have to trust me again. I'll be your little puppet. But if I'm right, then you know I'm on to something.'"
She was onto hundreds of millions of views.
Cyrus gambled and won - and Bangerz is set to be a smash when the album drops October 8th.
