Minka Kelly is the latest actor to be cast in Screen Gems' The Roommate, which will star Leighton Meester as Rebecca, a mentally unstable college co-ed who becomes obsessive about her female roommate and proceeds to stalks her. Kelly will play Sara, who is the unfortunate object of Rebecca's affections. It had been hinted that Meester would play the stalked character.

It was previously announced that Cam Gigandet had accepted a role in the film. He will star as the boyfriend of Kelly's character.
