The celebration and national grand opening of Catfish Alley takes place on April 14, beginning at Noon on the Las Vegas Strip at 3743 South Las Vegas Boulevard in the Hawaiian Marketplace across from City Center. With many favorite celebrities in attendance and live music and entertainment, it'll be quite a party.
Among those attending the event will be Otis Williams of the Temptations, Jackie Jackson of The Jackson 5, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, Bubba Knight of Gladys Knight & the Pips, LaMonte McLemore, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis of The 5th Dimension, J. D. Nicholas of The Commodores, Harry Elston of The Friends of Distinction, Clarence Collins of Little Anthony & the Imperials, Farrah Gray, international bestselling author, Richard Roundtree, London-based Concert Promoter David Gest, and Jason Winters, manager of Janet Jackson.
Catfish Alley features old-fashioned, southern style cooking, serving up mouth-watering fried catfish, cooked-to-order shrimp and chicken, with home-cooked side dishes from recipes passed down for generations. Catfish Alley puts the "soul back into food" with tantalizing treats like fried green beans, corn nuggets, black-eyed peas – oh, and did we mention the peach cobbler and sweet potato pie? One bite of any of these luscious dishes and you're hooked!
Along with great food, this group of Motown moguls will provide live musical acts to entertain guests and there's even a dance floor for people moved by the tunes. Four television screens broadcast performances by the Supremes, Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson. According to managing member Rod Gaines, "The goal is to have an event every night and make it a fun, happening place to be! We're trying to open 300 locations around the country in the next five years. We want to have fun and create jobs."
"We decided that the best catfish in the country should be available on the Las Vegas Strip," says Otis Williams, and judging by the menu – it will be!
