MTV has set Tuesday, February 10, as the launch date of its new reality show, T.I.'s Road to Redemption. The program will air at 9:30 ET/PT and focus on the rap star's community service in the days leading up to his prison sentencing in March.
"MTV has always given artists a platform to get their stories and music out to their fans and this series reveals the unknown side of T.I.—one of the world's greatest artists at the most precarious time in his life," Tony DiSanto, MTV's executive vice president of series development and programming, said in a statement. "In the face of impending incarceration, T.I. is driven to ensure others do not make the same mistakes, and our cameras document every step along this road as he impacts and changes lives for the better. It is real-time redemption."
Speaking of "real-time redemption," the subtitle of T.I.'s show will change as his sentencing gets closer, beginning with 45 Days To Go on premiere night. If T.I. reaches 1000 hours of community service, his 30-year maximum sentence—related to weapons charges—will likely be reduced.
