Muse, featuring Kate Hudson's reported new boyfriend Matt Bellamy, were awarded the O2 Silver Clef Award in London on Friday. They won the award based on their esteemed reputation as being really effing good live.
The award was presented to Muse by Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen. Taylor described the band as "probably the greatest live act in the world today," while May said that "this is a magnificent, incredible group." Greatest live act in the world today? That's a big, big statement to make, hyperbole or not. Someone call Rolling Stone. That's a list cover story for them to argue about and whip up. I will not argue against the fact that Muse are terrific, but that's some majorly big words.
Singer and guitarist Bellamy, who, in case you missed it in the opening sentence, has been seen cavorting with actress and serial dater Kate Hudson, who was seen at Yankees games last summer when she was hooking up with Alex Rodriguez, said it was an "amazing privilege and honor" to win, and told the influential Queen members "we owe you so much."
Are you a Muse fan? Who is your favorite Brit rock band? Muse? Coldplay? The worshippable Radiohead? Should Hudson stay the hell away from musicians?
