    Musician Joe Sample, a vet with an impressive resume, has died. He was just 75.

    He was a pianist and he co-wrote songs such as "One Day I'll Fly Away" and "Street Life." He died Friday, September 12 in Houston, Texas, due to complications from lung cancer.

    Sample was a founding member of The Jazz Crusaders. They changed their name to The Crusaders in 1971.

    Sample had quite a solo career, having played with Eric Clapton, The Supremes, Miles Davis, Steely Dan, and B.B. King.

    R.I.P., Joe Sample.
