The long-awaited launch of MySpace Music is expected to happen later this week, as the company recently secured such major sponsors as McDonald's, Sony Pictures, Toyota and State Farm. According to Reuters, the companies will help cover the costs of "free downloads, song playlists and personal music players."
"With MySpace Music integration, premium brands are offering our users and their customers new ways to discover, experience, and share music online and offline," Jeff Berman, the president of sales and marketing at MySpace, said in a statement.
Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group have all agreed to put content on the service, which will include links to streaming music, downloads, videos, merch and concert tickets. Amazon.com is heavily rumored to be the digital download service linked to MySpace Music.
