The Associated Press reports that The Nashville Rising benefit concert led by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw has raised over $2.2 million for flood victims in middle Tennessee. The total was the sum of sold-out ticket sales, donations and sponsorships. It will be distributed through the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Props to all involved, especially super couple Hill and McGraw for spearheading the event. Record rains that poured down on Tennessee over two days in May caused $2 billion in damages to the state, so this will chunk of money will help in the restoring and rebuilding processed.
Last month's all-star concert included performances by Hill, McGraw, Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, LeAnn Rimes, Luke Bryan, Michael W. Smith, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Toby Keith and ZZ Top. It was a veritable "Who's Who" of country music and it was held for the best of causes.
Have you done anything for the Nashville relief efforts yet?
