"I have a very strong idea about what I want," declares Natalie Nylon.

That "strong idea" has translated into some impressive hits overseas for the sexy dance siren. Tracks like "Let's Go (Dance)" featuring Miko, "XXX," and "Queen Bee" twist and turn through Euro-style beats and production with a distinctly American pop sensibility. It's like DJ Tiësto and Katy Perry got it on and made a beautiful electro pop baby. This girl has got the goods to burn up any dance floor, and she's bound to be blaring in clubs worldwide very soon.

Natalie Nylon spoke to ARTISTdirect.com editor and Dolor author Rick Florino about her tracks and so much more in this exclusive interview…

Did you aim to blend European club sounds and American pop in your music?

Yes, exactly! I think that's why it ended up doing so well in Europe. When I started writing, my idea was I wanted to do really fun pop dance music. I was thinking more along the lines of Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. While I was writing, it ended up turning into this really cool European mixed with American sound. It just happened naturally. I like some European music, but I pretty much listen to American dance music, which is interesting how this ended up coming about.

What's the story behind "Let's Go (Dance)"?

When I wrote that song, I worked with this producer named Miko. We wanted to write a song that was basically all about having fun, dancing, and having a great time in the club. That was the idea behind the song. My vision was a girl dancing in a club and having all of the attention from the guys all around here. Everyone's looking at her, and she's the center of attention. That's really what I wanted this song to portray. She's the sexy girl in the middle of the dance floor you can't stop looking at.

    What's up with "XXX"?

This song is extremely sexual [Laughs]. It has to do with a certain man in particular, who gets me going [Laughs]. That's basically what the song is about.

    Which artists shaped you?

When I really started getting into dance music, I began listening to The Sounds and Shiny Toy Guns and music along that genre. It ended up slowly moving into more dance pop music like how Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, and Rihanna are. I love all of those artists. Growing up, it was a little bit more underground. I was into punk, then I started listening to music that was a little more rock, and then dance like Shiny Toy Guns.

Did you have one complete vision for the album or did it come together song by song?

It came together as I went along. When I first started doing this, I wanted to make music that was fun and dance-y that people could have a great time to at a club. As we went along and the more I wrote, I ended up putting more of my emotions and feelings into them. It made Natalie Nylon how it is basically. It was more of a step by step process and it evolved as it went along.
