Following her self-titled debut earlier this year, singer-songwriter Natalie Prass will release a five song EP, Side by Side (Live at Spacebomb Studios), November 20 on StarTime International. The mini album includes the covers "REALiTi" (Grimes), "The Sound of Silence" (Simon & Garfunkel) and "Caught Up in the Rapture" (Anita Baker), the latter which premiered yesterday over at Stereogum.

Of that track, Stereogum says, "Whereas the original was a study in luxuriant '80s soul of the easy listening variety, Prass converts it to more of an old-school Motown sound. Raw yet dreamy instrumentation gorgeously contrasts with her signature vocals — lighter than air, brighter than the sun, yet tinged with a familiar sadness even when describing the elation that comes with love."

Prass herself says ""I chose 'Caught Up in the Rapture' because it's the perfect song and Anita Baker can really work a shoulder pad. I have crazy respect for her."

The songs were recorded live at Spacebomb Studios, "a record label and production company shaped around traditional models and time-honored ways, a house band, and a unified crew of arrangers and musicians" where Prass also recorded her stunning debut. If you have yet to hear Prass' gorgeous, pitch-perfect pipes, universally praised by Time, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and The New Yorker, don't sleep on Side By Side. Better yet, see if you can catch her live on tour (dates below).
