R&B singer and producer Ne-Yo is hoping to find the next music superstar as a new A&R executive at Motown Records.
'Yo will sign up-and-coming talent and mentor new acts as part of his role as Senior VP of A&R, which is the division that finds, signs, fosters and develops acts and helps them make albums.
Ne-Yo has left his former label digs of Def Jam, and will make his Motown debut this summer when he releases his fifth studio album.
"I'm honored that I've been given such a prestigious title and trusted with such responsibility; terrified because I know that playing this role in the fashion of one of my career role models --Mr. Smokey Robinson – these are big shoes to fill. But trust, I can handle it," he said in a statement.
Ethiopia Habtemariam, the Senior VP of Motown, said, "In Ne-Yo we have both a global superstar and arguably one of the best songwriters in music. His presence on the executive team only strengthens our commitment to be the very best in R&B."
It's Ne-Yotown at Motown. Perfect pairing.
Are you excited to see and hear what acts N-Yo nurtures?
