Neil Young Approves "Heart of Gold' Cover

Neil Young doesn't usually approve of covers of his songs, but he has given his blessing for "Heart of Gold" to be re-recorded by Tavi Gevinson and included in Cadaver, an animated short film that Gevinson is starring in alongside Christopher Lloyd and Kathy Bates. Young rarely grants permission for his songs to be covered, so this is a rarity and a victory for this film.
According to Deadline, the film is set to debut at the Santa Barbara Film Festival. It tells the story of an elderly cadaver (Lloyd) who wakes up to say goodbye to his wife, only to discover a truth in death he didn't know in life. Gevinson is the 15-year old fashion blogger icon who has stepped up to the animated film.
Jimmy Buffett was the last artist that received approval from young to re-record the 1972-issued classic.
Should Neil Young hold fast to his tradition of not approving covers of his songs?
