Time to resume your Buffalo Stance.

'80s pop singer Neneh Cherry had a hit with her song "Buffalo Stance," where she refreshingly rapped and sang. But then, she sorta dropped off the face of the earth, save for a few musical moments here and there, leaving her to one hit wonder status. Now, Cherry has teamed with Nordic jazz threesome The Thing to form Neneh Cherry & The Thing. No, it's not the comic book hero!

According to Pitchfork, The Cherry Thing will drop on June 19 via Smalltown Supersound.

The Cherry Thing features covers of tracks by Suicide, the Stooges, MF Doom, Cherry's father the jazz legend Don Cherry, and more. It'll be interesting, if nothing else.

    Track Listing:

    Cashback (Neneh Cherry)
    Dream Baby Dream (Suicide)
Too Tough to Die (Martina Topley-Bird)
    Sudden Movement (Mats Gustafsson)
    Accordion (MF Doom)
    Golden Heart (Don Cherry)
    Dirt (The Stooges)
    What Reason (Ornette Coleman)

Do you remember Neneh Cherry from her "Buffalo Stance" days? Do you want to check out The Cherry Thing?
